Met George Pratt at OAX and honestly really enjoyed my time talking with him. He talked everything from living with Scott Hampton, his teaching, some work he has been doing, what he enjoyed doing, owning old homes, boilers, Mark Twain, Japanese swords and just other random things. Really enjoyed talking with him.

Also, I lived in Japan around 8 years and collect antique Japanese swords, armors and even netsuke...so many years ago I picked up this series as I also have a soft spot for painted interiors and just enjoyed the artwork, setting and choices that went into putting this series together.

I had heard at some point that he actually did each panel as a separate art piece and had a great time flipping through the portfolios he had of these panel pieces. I bought the one under additional images to actually frame and place behind an antique Japanese armor set I have and bought the main image one as just a solid panel from this work.

Also as a bonus under additional images is also the free sketch card from OAX where George Pratt drew a young Mark Twain for me.

These two, a stray toasters page and my Mark Twain sketch were my haul from the 2024 1st annual OAX.

Main image is from Issue 3 pg 26 and additional image one is from issue 3 pg 8.
