DescriptionTorban Buck, nicknamed "Buckets of Blood," was a Chagrian male Jedi Master who served the Jedi Order as a healer during the High Republic Era. Buckets first appeared in the 2021 comic book The High Republic Adventures #1 (IDW), written by Daniel José Older and illustrated by Harvey Tolibao. This was an OAX 2024 auction win. I’m a big fan of Harvey’s work on HRA, and grabbing this early sketch of Buckets was one of many highlights during an outstanding weekend. Doing so while Harvey was in attendance was icing on the cake! Social/Sharing |

I'll have to confirm later with Harvey, but this piece was drawn pretty early. Possibly while they were working on that first issue. Just now catching up on the Phase III Adventures issues.

So, is this guy the father of that Ashoka chick? That weird "giant maggot on each side of the head" hairdo looks similar....

Nope, he's Chagrian - an amphibious sentient species of tall, horned humanoids with blue skin that were native to the planet Champala. Chagrians were most notably recognized by their thick tentacles that curved around their shoulders, as well as two more horn-like extremities above their heads.
Ahsooka is a Togruta from the planet Shili. The Togruta were a sentient humanoid species, characterized by their colorful skin tones, large montrals, head tails, and white facial pigments.
Both of the above not to be confused with the Twi'leks, a tall near-human species whose most striking feature was a pair of long appendages protruding from their skulls, called lekku. A number of Twi'leks appear in Jabba's palace in the OT and throughout the prequel trilogy.
Having a pair of large sweet potatos or slug tails hanging off your noggin is definitely a thing in Star Wars space.
