Description

Probably my favorite find at OAX, the color guides for this story were done by Dave himself. The final art (faces) and coloring is notably different from the published page with the coloring in the book being credited to Steve Otliff. I contacted Steve and was told �I did color a version of this story, but looking closely, that first Aurora title page is by Dave. The second version I colored. It looks like the first version that Dave did of the title page is a Blueline. There is texture in the color. My version was a Grayline, and I colored on a photostat, which makes a much smoother finish. My version was done with airbrush and water-soluble felt markers. Dave probably used paint and marker.�

Wow, that's an inspired find. Never would have thought to look for a Dave Stevens color guide, but congrats on the pickup!
