DescriptionDay 09. Thirty-One days of Star Wars (2024 edition) continues!The issue sees Princess Leia Organa and Rebel pilot Evaan Verlaine continuing their mission to rescue the survivors of Alderaan. That mission leads them to a collective of Alderaanians on the volcanic world of Sullust with the Galactic Empire in hot pursuit. Here on page 13, with the help of R2-D2, Leia and Verlaine managed to escape some armed guards by fleeing down a manhole that leads to a former waterway populated by the rockrenders. Yeah, I said rockrenders. Big orange-brown mineral eating creatures. They are a Star Wars thing, just trust me or go read for yourself. Obviously, the appeal of this page is that it features Rebel hero R2 once again saving the day. But also, I have been waiting for a page that Terry and Rachel both worked on. Double score. On a page for today, we passed the time Verlaine
Fighting Rockrenders Alderaan
Open hatch when I cried each time Artoo arrives
Take on Rockrenders Alderaan
You made a vow that you would ever be true
But somehow that vow meant Empire pursuit
Now, my Dodson art aches
With Terry's waterway
Over love Leia has a plan
Now, my Dodson art inked

I wonder if either of the Dodsons whistle that well? Bill needs to do an investigative interview!

I love Love LOVE that panel with R2! Oh yeah, the other panels are nice too, and it's nice to have Leia, but did I mention how cool the panel with R2 is?? Great piece!!!!!

Nice! Many of the Star Wars books are drawn by lesser known artists, sometimes newcomers, though they are often very good regardless of name popularity level. But now for two days straight you've pulled out the big guns, with Leinil Yu and now Terry & Rachel Dodson. I'm digging it!
