Description

Synopsis for "Love & Death"
Clark and Lois Lane arrive at the Daily Planet together, and everyone welcomes the new couple. Cat Grant interrupts them right before they kiss to present her new bodyguard: Jose Delgado, hired by Cat's ex-husband to protect her during the trial of Morgan Edge. Clark delivers hands over an article, and seeing he has the rest of the day free, he takes off as Superman.

Superman foils a robbery at a grocery store then wonders how quality of life can be improved to stop people turning to drugs. Spotting a storm offshore, he heads out to sea to deal with it, which gives Bruno Mannheim the opportunity to call an Intergang council of war without fear of interference. He needs to discredit three witnesses who may cause trouble for Morgan Edge: Clark Kent, Lois Lane, but chiefly Cat Grant. An attempt to deal with Clark has already backfired when the wrong person was killed. This was Matt Stockton, an associate of Amanda McCoy, a former assistant to Luthor who was fired when she claimed that Clark Kent was Superman. Stockton was hired to break into Clark's apartment to gather further evidence, but she now proceeds with her investigation on her own by luring Clark to the cemetery and exposing him to kryptonite. However when he collapses she panics and runs, thinking she has killed him. Superman recovers once the kryptonite is safely away but realises he must track her down. But he is too late as she runs into a pair of muggers who drag her into an alley and kill her.
