DescriptionKing in Black: Gwenom vs Carnage # 1 page 2Art by Flaviano Armentaro Written by Seanan McGuire Color by Rico Renzi! Marvel Comics - January 2021 Spider-Gwen in every panel creating great movement across the page with some great symbiote framing! I was hooked early after seeing Armentaro and Renzi post some early teaser images working on these pages on Instagram in 2020. Armentaro delivered some stunning pencil and inks complete with some ink wash on the page and Rico really took things to the next level with his color work. It's my understanding Armentaro started working digitally part of the way through issue three of this series and that all the Grim art is digital as well so I count myself lucky to own these pages. As added bonus this issue featured the first appearance of Mary Jane Watson as Carnage! Many thanks to Flaviano's rep for making these pages possible! The figure in the third panel was also used for a Marvel Annual 2021-22 Upper Deck trading card in 2023! The card had several background color variants. Social/Sharing |

Man, every panel's got a killer image of Gwen! Love that first one...and also the last...like I said they're all bangers! Nice energy, nice tones...I got one Flaviano piece but you remind me I need to look for more :) Congrats, George!

Gorgeous Spider-Gwen page by Flaviano Armentaro! Beautifully drawn page with an almost cinematic quality. The action flows from panel to panel with ease. Each panel is exquisitely composed and Gwenom looks spectacular in each on them. I especially love that fourth and final panel as she lands in the alley, legs splayed, anticipating danger. Love Flaviano's masterful use of ink wash and his strong use of blacks throughout. The whole page is like a master class in how to draw a comic book. Fabulous pick-up, congrats!

Great perspective and art style that makes for a nice interior. Flaviano bringing the flavor! That colorist though, straight fire :)
