Description

i had met seth at sdcc 2001 and again in 2002. out of all the folks i met he was at the top of my list of folks to see again when i'd make it to another sdcc. in 2005 i got to go and seth was at the top of my list of guys to seek out. i think he had his own booth or it was with JH Williams III but i found him!
what was cool was his mom was with him. i can't remember if his wife and baby were too.
the previous times i'd seen him he did a sketch of a character in my sketchbook but this time he had paper and a brush and he was doing portraits of people while his mom was painting a picture of him.
i sat still while he looked at my face and suddenly he got a confused look on his face. "do you know your eyes are uneven?" he asked. i told him that yes i was aware of that.
"I'll fix it!" he said. i laughed out loud when he handed it to me. i loved it!
i was really sad when i read of his passing a few months later. i wrote his wife some kind words and i can't remember if she responded or not but she did post a picture on his website that i sent her of one of the sketches he did for me. he was a unique individual and i'll never forget our brief moments nor his incredible art. i had this on my company's website as my profile picture until i received an email from security telling me this did not meet the company's standards.

What a wonderful memory! I am sure you know Bowie had two differently-coloured eyes. That puts you in good company. That's a very amusing portrait.
