Description

I was very fortunate to get George Pratt to pencil a geriatric Enemy Ace in my sketchbook during the first Original Arts Expo (OAX) in January 2024. His references for the sketch were the actual life model photos for his graphic novel War Idyll where von Hammer recounts his World War I experiences to a Vietnam vet. George serendipitously found the perfect life model for the book while walking around his New York City neighborhood. It was a senior citizen selling used lamps on the street!

I had a friend was a big Ace war flyer
Pratt draws line too
He could throwback to World War Two
Makes you look like a fool boy
Saw him at corner light at this roadside art
He said lamps are in, he was selling out
We went back inside sat down had a few drinks
But all he kept talking about was

Glory days, well they'll pass you by
Glory days, in the wink of a bottled dye
Glory days, glory Ace
