DescriptionI was very happy and fortunate to see George Pratt at Baltimore Comicon 2019. His university, Ringling College of Art and Design, had sent him to help represent them at their table. He wasn't sketching when I arrived and wasn't sure he would but I asked anyway. He modestly agreed, luckily having brought the wherewithal to sketch. I asked him for two (!) sketches the first day, and a third sketch the next. My friend and fellow collector Leonard Lee asked for Batman. I was amazed how quickly he did them, albeit they were images that he's drawn before. I was nonetheless ecstatic and pleased to get these works of art.The two World War I sketches are in this gallery and the third is in the World War II gallery. As far as I'm aware, this con is one of the few, if only, times Ringling has exhibited at Baltimore. If they had plans to do so in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic intervened, pausing large in-person events and they didn't come back afterwards. Social/Sharing |
