DescriptionThis Rick O'Shay daily, from September 26, 1958, is from earlier in the Jim Boys story line, before the Gunsmoke characters appear. The Jim Boys decide not to run, until Rick and Hipshot start slinging lead. That third panel is particularly wonderful, and I love his use of text. Third image is a standout and could have been blown up to be used as a promo piece. Looks so unique without outer borders. People may have thought they could literally run into the strip next to it.
