Comic art on a blank cover for Cover, which is about a comic artist, but now that’s just a cover for something that very much isn’t comic art. It depicts the comic art in the comic depicted in Cover and done by the comic artist who is the basis for Cover.

Or is that just a cover?

An appropriate and affordable David Mack example in the Sumi-e style. Looking at it closely, it's remarkable how much is conveyed through the simplest strokes. The master, looking back at the young apprentice (characters from the comic within the comic, Ninja Sword Odyssey), the outstretched hand reaching back - it all tells a story, unlike most covers currently being published.
