DescriptionThe Swamp Thing #16 Pg. 17Art by Mike Perkins Written by Ram V Another stellar page from the final issue of one of my favorite modern runs, The Swamp Thing by Ram V and Mike Perkins. I can't decide which panel here is my favorite as they are all great in different ways. Gorgeous greenery, a lineage of Swamp Things in the Parliament of Trees, Trinity and the Parliament of Gears, and the avatar and a tree in silhouette. Tough to beat that 2nd panel but the final one of just Levi and the tree I really love in it's simplicity. Thanks again as usual to Mike and Ruben! Social/Sharing |

Man, it's been so long that I forgot you ended up with this page! You're so right, every time I look at it I can't decide where to stop my eyes, because each and every panel is a little masterpiece all on its own! The stark brightness of the bottom panel pulls me to it very strongly. I love the simplicity of Swamp Thing by the tree in silhouette. But the other panels are great for the reasons you mention as well. I love the scenic widescreen shot of the first panel, with the Wodewos walking in the background. Just so much to look at and enjoy!

What a great looking page! I love that second panel for sure. I am looking forward to reading this series that much more after reading this post.

When you're an art fan, on a drout
You really need Ruben to help you out
It looks like light and depth is your Ram V choice
It's really hard to see
The forest for the trees
The forest for Kavi
And when you get claimy and everything's black and white
You know art it isn't that tonal, old brush's always tight
You know that gear teeth is worth buying
You gotta start taking if no one else is Swamp Thing
And if you're not afraid of Perkins ink line
You may be pleasantly Levi
Things are never as bad as a dream
Just gotta learn the Green
The Parliment of trees
Forest for the trees
You gotta learn Kavi

Perfectly crafted lyrics, Marcus, well done! I still can't understand why I always seem to be the only person, aside from the people you comment for, who appreciates your comedically lyrical wizardry. Take a bow!

My vote, in favorite order are Panel #2, 1, 4, 3. But 1 and 2 are close to interchangeable.
Also, (Yelling) "Where is the music?!" Haha.

Good choices, def subjective and all great panels regardless.
And about the music thing, sorry to dissapoint lol. I'll still ocasionally include a song choice but after awhile I found the need to have one kept me from posting as regularly because of it...so I just took a break from making that part of my postings I guess so that I would post more artwork lol...
It's cool to see others on CAF like Marcus and Ian and others pick up that approach though, love seeing what others would choose for their pieces. Maybe I'll get back to it eventually
