Great example of how Byrne made Lois more assertive and not being a damsel in distress all the time. If she's a fierce reporter, we need to see that side of her come out from time to time. Even Superman is not super enough to understand women. In context though, they just fed Lois another lie saying Superman was raised alongside Clark in Smallville. Great modern 80's fasion on Lois to differentiate her from the trappings of the small town.

Completely agree! Loved Byrne's take on the Lois and Clark relationship in the "modern" era of the 80s, definitely had a big impact on everything that came after. This issue also had a little bit of that Superman III scene where he is playing both parts in the same place at the same time...
