DescriptionRich Buckler at his best and unashamed Neal Adams impersonation, strongly supported by Dick Giordano, whose inks retrieve the density and gravity of the preceding decade...All this, with a great script by Cary Burkett, who easily evokes all the joys and improbable situations of late 60's carefree team-ups, so often presented in the pages of this very magazine! And, on top of that, when you get no less than the original, one and only Challengers of the Unknown as guest stars, next to Batman and Superman... Well, how could I resist?... World's Finest indeed! Buckler definitely doing his best to emulate Neal Adams, one of his early mentors. But Giordano definitely gave Buckler a helping hand.

Thanks Will! I don't know why, but I'm convinced Dick had a great time doing this one...

Pages from this Buckler WF run are highly prized because they are Adams like. Second and the circle panels are definitely from early Adams Brave and Bold. The faces and body language are more twisty and exagerated. Plus the layout and camera angles so so much more experimental and advanced than the rest of the DC titles.

Thanks Marcus! Yes, I also see a lot of Brave and Bold into this page. I know this is not the most famous part of the Adams/Batman run(s), but I was especially fond of the sometimes improbable pairings (I mean, Batman teaming up with the House of Mistery! Right?) that always delivered. And, with the Challengers of the Unknown in tow, it cannot go wrong, anyway!

Thanks! Rich Buckler is famous for his chameleon capacities and I know he is sometimes blamed for this... But, I find nothing wrong with this one!

Love the panel layout...perfectly done to compliment what's going on IN panel! And rounded out by a literal round panel :) Sweet storytelling goodness, top to bottom, Al, congrats!

Thanks! I agree: panels are designed for maximum impact, but still retaining crystal-clear visibility for optimal reading experience!
