Description

The main guest at FACTS Spring Edition 2024 in April was without a doubt legendary writer Brian Michael Bendis. I've never seen a table as busy as his over the weekend. With a list of work as extensive and long as his, considering the characters he created, it's to be expected, of course.

With there being a limit to the number of books you could get signed in one go, I queued about 3 times throughout Saturday. It gave me plenty of face time with Brian, all of my hardcovers and omnibuses signed (some with quotes), and this great sketch of good ol' hornhead.

For a few years now, I ask some of my favorite writers to do a quick doodle of the character they are famous for. Charles Soule did a Daredevil a few years ago and I mentioned that to Brian. Brian obliged and - wanting to make sure his DD was uglier than Charles' - added that funny line.

Bendis did start out as a writer / artist, so while rare, he has some cartooning skills. Pretty cool to see that he still has a sense of humor!
