DescriptionX-Men vol 4 # 5 September 11th 2013"Battle of the Atom, Chapter 3" pg 17 Inks over printed blue lines on 11 x 17 art board Writer: Brian Wood Pencils: David López Inks: Cam Smith (Signed bottom right) The Beast brought the original X-Men to the present day in a last-ditch attempt to reunite mutant kind. But after young Cyclops nearly died on a mission, the modern-day X-Men decided it was time to send the young X-Men home. Young Jean, painfully aware of the tragic end that awaited her if she went back, was less than thrilled. As if that weren't enough, a group of X-Men from the future appeared with dire news: if the stay, the young X-Men will destroy the future. Seeing that they were about to be sent back and unable to read the strangers thoughts, Young Jean distracted the X-Men by starting a fight and she and Scott went on the run. Past Jean & Scott eventually make contact with Cyclops' team of Uncanny X-Men, and after some consideration Scott agrees to help his younger self and young Jean. Realizing that Scott’s thinking on the matter is compromised, Emma Frost telepathically alerts the X-Men and Future X-Men of Young Jean’s and Scott's location. However, upon seeing Xorn attack her younger self, Emma has a change of heart and attacks Xorn with the Cuckoos and Past Jean. Social/Sharing |

I didn't love BotA when I first read it but it's grown on me a lot because of how ridiculously convoluted and messy the character dynamics get ("Old young Jean. I can't believe I just said that"). I got a kick out of your description because it's both accurate and probably inscrutable for people for people who haven't read it haha.
This page has a lot of great stuff in it. I especially love Kitty going off on the X-Men and Rachel being put in the super weird position of having to teach psychic defense techniques to a teenager who is also the time-displaced version of her alternate reality mom who probably taught her those techniques in the first place. X-Men!
