DescriptionAnother pick up from OAX.When I bought this the inks were very faded (see additional image) and I asked John Beatty who was next to the seller if he would touch up my purchase for me and he said no, with the reason being that it would ruin the integrity of the piece. I feel that it was well within his right to turn me down. I thought about having it restored but shifted gears and asked Zeck's second best inker Bob McLeod (See Kraven's Last Hunt) to do the touch up. Bob agreed and personally I think his work really brought the inks back to life. I'm extremely happy with the final result. Thanks to Rick Verbanas for finding this for me at the show. Alberto Gonzalez didn't help at all. Social/Sharing |

A scathing indictment of a divided Cap-dom in Florida. Thankfully, the Sentinel of Liberty shines forth in the end.

Coollines was at OAX, did you consider them for touch-ups too?

I like their work on Kane, but not for Zeck.

Wow, Zeck draws Cap stout and formidable. I love it. Did Mike originally ink? Or was it John? Bob of course is a tremendous artist!

Great pickup! It's always tough to decide the best solution to fix a piece with faded inks, but I think Bob did a fantastic job in this one!!!

Lol. I don't think Alberto read your blurb. :) Glad it found it's way in to a good home and it looks great with Bob's inks. Congrats!

For me, hard to top a Zeck Cap with this stuff. Classic hero pose here! Congrats!

I hope you find a faded piece at OAX 2025 for Ray Kryssing to touch up. Would be worth a fortune then.
