Description

This drawing is very similar to the third image on the Donald's Elephant Good Housekeeping page. But the drawing shows Donald in a different position.

When this drawing was sold at auction in June 2023, when I bought publicity drawings from Mickey's Elephant and Mickey's Parrot, I agreed not to bid on it in favor of a friend who was interested in it. He recently agreed to sell it to me.

Donald had a few animals as pets, albeit fewer than Mickey had in the 1940s. Donald's included an ostrich, a penguin, and this elephant.

Always hard to understand the heirarchy of the Disney animal kingdom if a mouse is at the top, Peg Leg Pete is a cat below Mickey, and Goofy and Pluto are not even. So a duck owning an elephant should make sense.
