Description"Viet Nam: The Valor and the Victory" By Gary FriedrichI had some buyer's remorse but in the end decided to keep this "presidential" page. It appealed to me because it depicts a president--in this instance President Johnson--and has a nice half-page splash of SHIELD's Helicarrier. The piece also pairs well with my Captain America Kirby page that has Nick Fury. Page summary: President Johnson visits the helicarrier to ask Director Nick Fury and the Howling Commandos to undertake a covert mission to destroy North Vietnam's hydrogen bomb project. It's a lovely page! I was tempted to bid on it, but I'm stashing the cash for a larger commission at the momemt.

Great piece of history! LBJ art in comics is rare and the big Helicarrier image is very iconic like a flying battleship. It's right in the middle of his term and his Vietnam policy is on full display.
