Description

An exquisite watercolour by Eric Stalner of his beautiful medieval creation and, as you can see, finer and more revealing than the cover and b&w illustrated pages (additional images) of this hard to find booklet . This watercolour appears to be an illustration relating to page 4 but as I haven't seen it yet I can't be sure if it was painted for this purpose. After tracking down a copy of this small edition, all will be revealed no doubt.

Masterful subtleties here include the elongated tree branch, somewhat phallic in shape, which points down towards our heroine's golden mound. She has just drawn her sword from the scabard hung from it and so Stalner immortalises another Sword and Sorcery graphic high of deadly vulnerability.(25x32.5cm)
