Hot as the Buscema and Palmer team! Alan Davis and De Los Santos make the simple design fascinatiing by their driven focus to make theirs the best version of the Surfer.

So clearly, Alan, when you see it, but strongly accentuated by DLS. Sign of a good inker. Congrats!

Wow! Stunning commission of the Silver Surfer by Alan Davis and Jeff De Los Santos. A lot of artists have drawn the character, but I really get a sense that Alan and Jeff were trying hard to make theirs stand out! For one thing, I love the pose that Alan gave the Surfer--Look at how he bends into the motion of the surfboard as if he really is riding the cosmic waves. I also love how Alan and Jeff didn't fill the background with comets and stars and planets, instead they created a narrow window behind the Surfer through which we can see the stars, but it doesn't fill the page. It's a clever visual trick that makes it appear that the Surfer is zooming off the page. Wonderful commission, great pick-up!
