DescriptionI’m obsessed with Kim Jung Gi. It’s true and there’s no denying it. To be clear, my obsession isn’t unique. Kim Jung Gi was a global object of obsession. His approach to drawing was truly once in a lifetime, and anyone who has watched him work will agree that he was a master. In a short interview with Kim Jung Gi, he mentioned that he loves to draw what is "in his mind", and the stuff he thinks about frequently happens to be random, perverted, sexy and violent. He draws motorcycles, robots, automatic weapons, tanks, animals, lots naked women (tattooed, tied up, giving and receiving sex acts), lots naked men (also tattooed, tied up, giving and receiving sex acts), and tons of slice of life drawings of parks, ramen houses, and shopping centers. In addition to drawing all the things in his mind, he also mentioned that he was overloaded with commissions to draw all sorts of things that he is far less enthusiastic about (comic book covers etc.), but accepted because…well we all have to make a living, right? In summary, there were two types of Kim Jung Gi drawings: 1) that which comes from within his head, and 2) everything else. I NEEDED TO HAVE ONE OF EACH (for now….).My “from inside his head” drawing is this super weird and awesome scene involving a sexy librarian equipped with an AR-15, who is apparently interrupting a freaky BDSM orgy involving tattooed and tied-up women, a naked man in a pig mask, and another man that looks A LOT like Kim Jung Gi himself, who appeared to have been “working on” the tied up woman until the sexy librarian entered the room. My “everything else” drawing [THIS ONE RIGHT HERE] depicts a ronin warrior who is fighting an undead decomposing zombie warrior with 4 arms. When I purchased this from Mr. Kim at NYCC 2019, I was told this was a commission to help market an upcoming series coming soon on Netflix. I was also told that I was not allowed to post pics of this drawing until the series was released. When The Kingdom: Season 2 was released on Netflix a while ago, I assumed that this piece was associated with that production. I was wrong because the Jung-Gi entourage contacted Bill and threatened a lawsuit, and the piece was taken down immediately. Now, I believe this piece was a concept design for the anime: Onimusha, which was released several months ago. Check it out. Social/Sharing |

This puece is absolutely awesome. It captures Master Kim Jungs insane ability to take directly what's in his mind and translate it to the paper! Stunner.
