DescriptionAT LAST!!! A DREAM COME TRUE!!!One of the TOP authors that was resisting for years to enter my collection while I saw how the possibilities were decreasing with prices more and more exorbitant every day. This page is a perfect summary of what a 100% pencil and ink McFarlane is, with his characteristic style. We can even appreciate the resources of backlighting with silhouettes darkening the background or making the character very large (like Peter in that fantastic Italian shot of the fourth panel) or drawing New York very tiny in a corner. These were things that, according to the author himself, saved him time, especially considering that this issue was one of those published when the collection became a biweekly, which made it difficult for the artist to deliver on time. For dessert, the page features MJ (ok, in some pictures) and the costume with the Spider-Man mask, .... so being an issue of classic Amazing Spider-Man, what more can I ask for? Comic Art Fans Update 199 (2:15:00) TODD MCFARLANE: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #308, PAGE 3 Appearing in "Dread" Release Date: July 12, 1988 Cover Date: November, 1988 Writer(s): David Michelinie Penciler(s): Todd McFarlane Inker(s): Todd McFarlane Colorist(s): Bob Sharen Letterer(s): Rick Parker Editor(s): Jim Salicrup SYNOPSIS: The police examine the Parkers' condo after Peter comes home, finding MJ missing with signs of a struggle. One floor below, Jonathon Caesar keeps MJ prisoner in a hidden room filled with images of her. When he tries to make her comfortable, she slaps him. He hits her back, then explains he arranged for her admission to Bedford Towers so he could eventually marry her. Spidey shakes down hood Chili Bono who tells him there's a new crook in town, talking revenge on Spider-Man. To please Aunt May, Peter honors his Queens book signing commitment. Felicia Hardy tries to get into Bedford Towers, but the doorman turns her away. Following Chili's lead, Spidey goes to a Brooklyn graveyard and encounters an army who think he was hired to portray Spider- Man. He mops them up, discovering their trainer is Taskmaster. Possessed with rage, Spidey fights him, demanding MJ. Taskmaster tells him he's never heard of her, then ignites his stashed munitions store and escapes. Back home, Peter paces the balcony unaware that MJ is a captive just below him. Social/Sharing |

These kind of McFarlane pages remember me when i was a child reading comics and discover that Todd Spidey was the best for me...
Mcfarlane is pure here , you can see him in every horizontal panel and every line , lights and shadows , this little details like MJ portrait...and the 3 and 4 panels are gold

I'm so glad to see our friends adding to their legend in the CAF with TOP authors. A McFarlane drawing and inking Amazing Spider-man. For me it is a luxury to see these pages of the series that made Todd world famous. A grail

Menuda maravilla! Qué recuerdos me trae... por un momento me he sentido que volvía del kiosko tras comprar mi ración de trepamuros quincenal... una grandísima adquisición. Siéntete poderoso 🙌

Todd McFarlane really knows how to create dramatic comic reading, great page even without your friendly neighborhood, Spider-Man. Congrats

I had a page from this issue once--the inks were really starting to tighten up around this point. This one's a beaut!

I like the page simply because Peter is beginning the transformation into Spiderman. The first 2 shots of Peter in a white silhouette compared to the determined detail demonstrates this. Nice page.
