Published in Nick Cardy: The Artist at War, page 73.

Nick was originally drafted into the 66th Infantry Division, where he redesigned their shoulder patch. Later, Nick was transferred to the Third Armored Division as a tank driver.

Acquired from Nick's estate via ComicConnect.

This is fantastic. Nick had a true gift for depicting the subtle nuances in the world around him. Thanks for posting. I was thinking about him just the other day.

Still an artist at heart when called upon to serve! Cardy must have kept this scene in his mind as it made a great impact in his life and character.
