DescriptionMike Allred - X-Force #117 p 21 (Birth of X-Statix)My favorite single issue of all time is X-Force #116, where Allred and Milligan turned a title and all Marvel comics that preceded it completely upside down. While clearly satirizing the norms and conventions that come with superhero comics, they also churned out a damn good superhero comic themselves. This page from #117 kept that momentum from the title reboot and cemented that the magic from the issue before wasn’t a fluke. The trio of Anarchist, Mister Sensitive, and U-Go Girl were classic, and I couldn’t be happier to have a page featuring all three from early in this run well before they became X-Statix. The go go look of U-Go Girl is so Allred! And so are the design of these other offbeat characters that would explore modern celebrity culture in the guise powered X mutants!

Can't be great art paired with uber nostalgia! This total 180 on X-Force was a unique and rad change...into X-Statix! Congrats!
