DescriptionThis is a classic and historic Original Art Page from Conan the Barbarian #135. This is the first ever published Marvel work in the brilliant career of Marc Silvestri! Published in June 1982, the page actually has a Marvel copyright stamp on the back from 1981! And as special as it is to have a page from Silvestri's first published Marvel work, what makes it even better is that it is a truly outstanding page, with stunning depictions of the lovely Merya in panels 2, 3, and 4, and awesome images of the legendary Cimmerian hero in fighting battle action in the large splashy bottom panels! Conan battles his way through Arawn's Beast Legion, slashing away with his sword, and you even see the blood on his sword in the large splashy final panel! Silvestri is a legendary Modern Age artist, known for classic work on so many characters and titles, including Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men, Cyber Force, The Darkness, Witchblade, Spawn, Conan the Barbarian, Batman, and so many others for Marvel, DC, Top Cow, and Image Comics. This is an outstanding classic example from where it began! The page has clipped edges, which is common on art from this time period. This is an exceptional and unbelievably rare piece of Marc Silvestri artwork, that would look amazing framed and prominently displayed, and would be a key piece in any collection.Social/Sharing |
