DescriptionOriginal artwork for Ultimate Fantastic Four Vol. 1 #31 (Marvel, 2006) by the super-talented team of Greg Land (pencils) and finisher Matt Ryan (inks). This page features another classic dispute between Reed Richards and his most fearsome arch-enemy, Doctor Doom (Victor Van Damme). Johnny Storm, having been infected by Zvilpogghua, a gruesome parasitic creature which had been cast into the Abyss by the ancient ancestors of Atlantis, Reed is forced to make a deal with the cunning Doom to save Johnny's life. But, a deal with the devil is never wise, and this deal will be extremely costly for Reed indeed, especially since Doom was the very one who summoned the creature to infect Johnny in the first place. Doom agrees to exercise the demon back to the Abyss, but only if Reed agrees to swap their formidable minds, so that Doom will now be the leader of the famed Fantastic Four, while in the body of Reed Richards. High drama in the famous Marvel tradition, just the way you demand it!Pencils by the supremely talented Greg land are always a visual delight to behold, no doubt. However, it is the remarkably exquisite finishing on this page that make this piece most impressive, as Ryan applies his wonderfully detailed and delicate grease-pencil accents to Doom's armor and Reed's face.
