I would guess that's Sprite instead of Thunderbird. X-Men crossed over four times into ROM. So either Martin was trying out for the later issues or done on her own inspired by issues 17 & 18.

This is kinda cool from a conceptual stand point especially with how it pays homage to the original series. I would have liked to see a more finished version of this but even as a rough sketch you get points for creativity. Some other cool recent ROM related fan art here...
