DescriptionSimon was a lot of fun at the show, and his usual ornery self. This awesome prelim by him is the same size as he paints on. He said once he gets them approved, he just copies them over and paints them. In his process, these prelims are kind of the published pencils and inks, as he paints over a copy like most painters do. So after hanging with him for a bit I bought a few prelims including the rejected first version of this cover and a TMNT 40th anniversary color prelim.Simon asked if I wanted a photo with him and I didn't reply fast enough so he was like "Fine, f**k off then." So I took a quick selfie with him. But the last time I took a photo with him was SDCC 2008, when he was drinking at the booth while signing and thought it would be funny to draw a line from my nose to my ear in Sharpie right as we took the pic. I walked over to my wife right after and was like "did he just draw on my face in Sharpie?" and she was laughing and said yeah lol. I licked my hand and began rubbing it as I ran to the men's room and was able to get it off with some soap and water since it didn't dry, but I was so mad at the time lol. So that is why I hesitated when he asked now if I wanted to take a pic with him lol. Social/Sharing |
