Description

I've flipped through Mindy's portfolio at past shows (including C2E2 last year), but for some reason, some of her pieces jumped out this year at C2E2, and this was one of them. I think this had a different name listed in Mindy's portfolio, but this is what I recall as the name. With the stylized anatomy, it actually reminds me of the art of Gabriel Bá and Fábio Moon, which might be why it called out to me. This also is a better example of Mindy's eye for interesting costume design (that top with a corset, open back, and pointy shoulders looks cool and somehow fits in with the western design theme). But I think it's her face that sold me. She has this beautifully coiffed hair, with her head in profile and a side eye looking back that shows off a bit of attitude.

This also features a bonus sketch on the back. I didn't get to ask Mindy what it was, but my guess is it was an earlier version of the final art. It has more energy, but I prefer the mood/attitude in the final version.

Stylish illustration by Mindy Lee. What's not to love about Mindy's art? 1. You've got one gorgeous femme fetale. 2. Multiple weapons. 3. Stylin' clothes with an open back, 4. Western boots with spurs. Check, check, check, and check!
