DescriptionAmazing Spider-Man #5 (Vol. 6, Legacy number #899) Pg. 2Pencils by John Romita Jr. Inks by Scott Hanna Written by Zeb Wells Digger and his driver arrive to The Rose's HQ, only to see immediately that the gang has been taken down, as The Rose (Richard Fisk, Wilson and Vanessa Fisk's son) is arrested by the police in the aftermath of Spider-Man's takedown (caused by some trickery from Tombstone in his gang war against The Rose in the previous issue). Digger tells his driver to get the hell outta' there, and tosses his perfectly good ice cream cone out the window! Sometime after moving from NYC to NJ last summer I took a trip down to The EXP/Dynamite offices and paid a visit to Nicky B and his Friday Original Art Show. I grabbed this page as a nice memento/memory from that trip for my collection. I also brought Nick some pages that he bought from me and I also gave away an X-Men page on the show for a good cause. Overall a very fun time, thanks Nick! This page may not have Spidey or Peter on it, but it's still really nicely illustrated by Romita Jr and Hanna and it's cool to have The Kingpin's son getting arrested as a key story plot within this arc on the page. I've subsequently read this issue but still need to catch up on the whole overall run (volume 6 of ASM) that started in 2022 written by Zeb Wells, I'll definitely get around to it because the art is pretty nice! A very nice memento gift, I am "drawn" to the circles of flashy lights, it's simple but the execution is well done.

Very cool page and a great behind the scene story of how you got this!

The Rose! Man, that's serious nostalgia. Still impeccably dressed as ever despite getting roughed up a bit.

Just what the f- came here to do, do, do, do
Yeah, yeah
'Cause it Romita’s art is on
And it Rose on gang war and on, yeah
I show red pants put on a pair sometimes
Saying, "Ayo, gotta dance off"
Nicola celebrates and lives perm life
Saying, "Ayo, Kavi, let's go"
'Cause we gon' throw this out
Ice cream cone that’s right
We gon' trade it up
Like it's Dynamite
'Cause I told you Rose
That my Hanna’s nice
He gon' ink it up
Like it's Dynamite

No superheroes, but it's a great storytelling page and example of how well JR Jr. draws pretty much everything. Also cool that you picked it up as a memento of the trip to Nicky B's!

If he only had some Lactaid he could have enjoyed that cone but on second thought, a car is a pretty small enclosed space. Who wants to be trapped in a car with somone who has lactose issues?
