Description

14.25" x 10.5" image area. Ink, ink wash and white paint over graphite on Bristol board. Tales of the Zombie #4 Page 41 original art (Marvel, 1974). Win Mortimer.

This page represents one of the more striking backup stories, "Nightfilth Rising," in which a murder victim returns from beyond the grave to seek vengeance. Mortimer's insane detail of the decay of the Zombie and the macabre shading, demonstrate his unique talent for horror.

Great brushy inks to get across the decay in contrast against the evil within beauty. Morality play that evil comes in all forms and beauty is skin deep.
