11.75x17-3/8" Sparta artboard has pen and ink original art by Nick Cardy (1920-2013). Art depicts man descending into dark cellar, where a fearsome glowing monster waits for him. "The Anatomy Of Hate" cover story, published by DC Comics, Oct. 1972. Art was done on smaller 10x14-1/8" artboard, which was then applied to larger Sparta board. Publishing indicia (including image of spooky hooded host) at top are pasted stats as is word balloon and banner w/cover story title at lower right. Staple/pin holes at upper left corner w/some scattered editorial notations at margins. Back has DC copyright stamp, some inking for printing job and remnants of tape. Scattered handling wear w/some aging below title stat and at lower right corner of attached artboard; not distracting. Art o/w remains clean and VF/Exc.
