Description

To say I was STUNNED to run across not one, but FOUR pages from the St Synn discarded graphic novel, is an understatement!
From the estate of Future Comics co-founder, I am now the proud owner of the first 4 pages from the book, that would later become, DEATHMASK!
The title of the book was written at the top as ST SYNN, which was the character's real last name in the Deathmask title. Being a little confused what this was and how it was included in a DM page pack I asked Dick's friend, business partner and co-creator of the character. In Bob Layton's words he explains where this page originated. "Those were redraws for the Sorcerer. When we started Future, we were going to redo the art to the original graphic novel and use that character as part of the universe. Then, we found out that we no longer had the rights to the name. So, the pages were scraped and replaced by Deathmask." Very cool. Well, these pages have all the feeling of an old 1970's Spectre page by Fleisher/ Aparo. Enjoy this sneak peek at a true rarity.

You can see the veteran storyteller at work here! The raw pencils show Giordano choreograph one tense sequence where St Synn gives a guy a short sleeve and threatens to finish him off with a bullet to the temple.
