DescriptionIf this art looks familiar it's because I first posted it in 2022. While I wasn't looking to sell, a fellow collector made me a very strong offer in early 2023 which I couldn't turn down. This piece turned up in the June 2024 Heritage Signature auction and I was happy to be able to buy it back again. While the Punisher is not a character that I specifically collect, I love Joe Kubert's art and was very happy when he finally started doing some work for Marvel in the 90's. The Kubert family has been selling Joe's artwork through Phillip Weiss Auctions for several years and this entire 22 page story was sold by the family in September 2021. I missed out on buying the issue, but I was able to buy this page from Albert about 6 months later. While the whole story is beautifully drawn, this is my favorite page from the issue, having really dramatic images of the Punisher and his temporary ally Dragunov. Now I just need to get a Joe Kubert Hulk page. Let me know if you have a nice one that you'd be willing to sell or trade :) Social/Sharing |

I LOVE Kubert's art, one of the all-time greatest to work in this field! It's still really weird for me to see his art on Marvel characters though, even after all these years, but it looks great because he was great!

I've seen and (and enjoyed) Joe Kubert's work on the Punisher, but this might be the most Kubert-esque piece I've seen from that run. Intense and awesome--and congrats on getting it back! I always tell myself that I'm going to do this and yet rarely follow through.

Yeah - that's probably why I like it so much. This is actually the second piece I've bought back this year, but I've only done that a few times over the years.

Always a joy to get a piece of art back that you never really fell out of love with. And what a wonderful page, congrats!
