DescriptionStorm + rain = winning combo. One of my favorite Storm images was Portacio’s gorgeous cover to UXM 290. Though this isn’t necessarily an homage to that one, Yardin invokes some of the same majesty. I actually like this piece better without the digital effects for rain and lightning added on the published cover. Social/Sharing |

One of the best Storm pieces I've seen in a long, long, time. By ANY artist. Really, really, stunning! Congratulations E!

Yeah
David Yardin, rain is falling
Storm on cover, share the win (I like that)
Clouds are shrouding us in moments that’s not digital
You twist Portacio fans I am in
But things just get so crazy
Lightning light gets hard to do
And I would gladly hit the show, get Ororo if I knew
That someday inks would lead me back to you
That always it would lead me back to you (oh, someday)
That may be all I need
In darkness, she is Storm I see (all I see)
Come and get your Jones with me
Driving Storm by David Yardin
And I never want to leave
Yeah, inkers trace your every outline, oh yeah, yeah
Yeah, paint a picture for the fans, oh, woah
And Worlds Apart we sway like haunches for the Storm
Chase the cover, still together when it ends

Such a great image of Storm and agreed the original is better than the cover

First noticed Yardin when he was working on X-Factor. His anatomy and gesture, really caught my attention. This is just a beautiful pick up!

I wouldn't have recognized this piece had you not posted the published. Way better in b&w!

Great looking piece, E. Love seeing the OA here on CAF as I liked the published cover a lot...and yup...the OA's even better. Majestic, also got a calming vibe...Yardin doesn't get enough pub! Congrats, man!

Gorgeous rendition by Yardin who sadly stopped gracing us with interior art it seems. This one reminds me of Castellini's work.
(oh and btw, I think Ororo's black too ;)

I'm actually working on some sequentials now, which hopefully should be announced soon.

A truly gorgeous Storm cover. There is a certain peace to this piece. I want to say the calm before the storm, but she is surrounded by her elements. Maybe more of a nothin' lasts forever and we both know hearts can change, it's hard to hold a candle in the cold November rain.

You just identified the soundtrack to this piece. Slash is outside the church shredding right now!

Only a half figure and facing the reader directly, so some might be tempted to think this is "boring". But goddamn, there is something about it that is so alluring and keeps you staring at it. It's beautiful and one of the most powerful Storm covers I've ever seen!

One of my faves too. :) Just wish I'd gotten to colour this one too.
