Description

Truly gorgeous and terrifying page from JWS here. Has to be some of the finest stippling technique that I personally know of, and is without question now the best example I have in my collection.

The fly and bee in the window is something I love about this page, as well as all that wonderful detail in the sweets jars. As the page begins in wonderment in curiosity it ends in true horror. I am not exactly sure what is going on with the jar or the candy man, but it is pure evil. Not about to say his name in the mirror three times.

Can't get over how well this mix of beauty and horror and translates to the page. Jemma is an effective storyteller and serves as a reminder to how unique an indie comic can be. Is it for everyone? Nope, but when it was created it was never intended to be.
