This was used for the promo for the Angel and the Ape 1991 series written and drawn by Phil Foglio.
The ad is possibly inked Keith Wilson who inked the covers and the interiors over Phil's pencils.

I was a big fan of Phil's work on Myth Adventures and Buck Godot-Zap Gun for Hire, so it was only natural to follow him unto this series.
I was also a fan of the original Angel and Ape series drawn by late great Bob Oksner.

There are a couple of differences between this and the final image. The Ape and girl have been rotated and moved up. I don't know if this was done through a stat with fill in art or if the part or whole of the image was redrawn for the final publication.

Another somewhat rare house ad original! So cool and a lot of fun. It's interesting to see that Foglio had already improved his skills just a few years after starting Myth Adventures. A perfect choice for this book!

Wicked cool post, Miki! I loved this series - anytime you could find Phil's work in a mainstream comic was super special - and this promo is a great image from a fun project. Wish it could have continued for another mini! Great add to your amazing gallery, Miki - congrats!
