DescriptionReally enjoyed this Brian Wood series, read the whole run of 25-30 issues. It probably ended like 10 years ago but I think it's worth a read if you are ever looking to change it up from hero books for a stretch.Declan Shalvey wasn't the main artist from what I recall but this issue always stood out in my recollection of the title. I've spent a great deal of time on & under the ocean and have really grown to appreciate scenes like that top panel. Never saw anything in person like panels 2-3 though... But if I had a big enough boat and a sturdier cage than Hooper, I think I'd be into that too. Thanks to Andrew for making everything happen. And thanks for taking a look. Social/Sharing |

Definitely worth a read. Full disclosure though, despite the title and this issue, it's not a series about sharks. The mastodon storyline was short but had some brilliant ocean scenes & action.

I like all that chaotic frenzy above with the crashing waves and birds over that jagged rock island. A more preferrable environment over the calmness and danger that lurks underneath!

Outstanding page from Declan Shavley! Love the top panel with the wild rockwork and the rolling sea. The second panel is a great contrast with the single great white shark moving silently through a coral reef. Which makes the final panel with the whole array of sharks so surprising. Shavley did a nice job of building the suspence throughout the page. His inks do a superb job of adding to the realism of the artwork. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
