Description

So being a fan of these two artists I simply couldn't resist trying to get a piece from this issue as it is such a unique pairing of artists! Both classically trained artists and yet capable of many different styles and mediums.

This page depicts Alicia Masters in an armor suit (allows her to travel through space with Silver Surfer) and Johnny Storm along with what I see as a Sienkiewicz crowd scene. There's also a tiny Silver Surfer and The Thing riding on his board top of first panel.

I got two pages from this series to celebrate what I see as such a unique pairing of two artists I admire and from a seriEs that hits some cool places/characters/lore. I'm proud to care for them.

If I'm being entirely honest with myself though, while I love the coming together of these two wonderful artists, I don't instinctually feel like their art in this issue fully lives up to what could have been. It does have it's charms and it might just be that what I imagine in my head when I combine both these artists skills is just too beautiful...like what if they decided to paint this entire 6 issue mini series together? I can almost picture it....

It's a unique beast on its own! I like how each face in the crowd has their own unique personality as so different from the powerful beings taking flight.

I have pg 32 from this issue, and I love the cinematic quality of this artwork. His action shots, like this, are wide angle and the one I have features close ups, medium shots, and wide. I agree, it's rougher than much of their individual work and I think the Muth / Sienkiewicz combo creates something unique.
