DescriptionX-Cutioner's Song was peak Greg Capullo at Marvel. The corresponding X-Force issues were the only way we really got to see him drawing the X-Men proper. The crossover was released a little while before I started collecting X-Men on the regular, but I quickly snapped up all the polybag-sealed goodness I could find in the back-issue bins at my local store. The collective books had some of the coolest X-Men covers for their time, done by some of the best artists of the 90s and now. Buccellato went above and beyond on this book too. The colors are super vibrant, and he matched Cappulo's detailed pencils with impressive lighting and precise shadding. Stryfe and Apocalypse never looked so good. I need to get me some OA from this issue. Social/Sharing |
