Description

A Bruce McCorkindale re-creation of Frank Frazetta's Pellucidar illustration from the AT THE EARTH'S CORE portfolio. Pen, brush and ink on 13" X 20" Bristol board.

Bruce said, "Frank's wash work always has very subtle shifts in tone, which are pretty crucial to replicate. I did my best to capture the look and feel! I often think I like his ink/wash work even more than his paintings, which is saying something!"

Very hard to recreate the wash tones as it not only requires knowing the brush strokes, but also how much to dilute the inkat various points of this to get that specific Frazetta look and fiery passion.
