From the Big Strip Stupormarket collection.

If you're unfamiliar with Pete Loveday's work then please do check it out. It has a wonderfully gentle humour to it and characterises a nearly lost 'tribe' of new age travellers, mystics, hippies, early ecologists and those like Russell who don't really fit in and are just somewhat bewildered.

I've alluded to Crumb and Shelton in the title but whilst I think his art is influenced by Crumb, Loveday's world is a far more benign and quintessentially English one.

His pages are beautifully and meticulously inked. His comics are published in A4 format and amazingly they are drawn on A4 sized paper.

A wonderful artist and well known counter-cultural figure Pete Loveday died earlier this year 2024 and is sadly missed.
