Bill doesn't want to waste a bullet on those dirty Volgs - great commission!
The art on Terra-Meks is pretty much perfection, Gibbons best work to my mind, and you've got a fantastic title page there. One of my favourite 2000ad stories. Don't know that I'd call it sad though, it's certainly very moving, but the ending is triumphant!
Cracking page! So much action jumping out of the page at you. Love the way the artists had to be so clever with the special fx back then.
I do love it when a good story is posted up along with a page - and that's a fine story. All Watchman pages have a certain elegance about them, and this is no exception. You can feel the chill outside and sense the chill creeping up on those inside. I'm pleased to hear you'll be getting some restoration work done, I'm not sure if I have this right, but I sense a degree of reluctance/suspicion regarding the restoration of comic art, amongst us collectors which is odd given how commonplace it is in fine art circles. Anyway, I'll be very interested to see the results.
It's an absolutely superb page - a true heavyweight. Glad it's gone (back) to a good home.
Lovely image of the Gronk there!
Ennis and Dillon a comics dream team. So many single pages written and drawn by them stand up on the own as pieces of art.
Great cover, the black really draws us in close to the image of Joe by the phone and the lettering is as much a work of art as the image.
"Get In" Ashton - what a superb page! Wilson's inking is just perfect and close to how I'd imagine what a Moebius Dredd strip would look like.
Fantastic cover with glorious painting by Glenn, at the peak of his powers! Frame really works. Superb.
Of all the (Cerebus) pages in all the world - this is the one!
Lovely image of Concrete, and unusual, don't often see the big-guy smile..
Lovely title page from a classic Hellblazer story arc. Superb!
Great cover! Looked at that many times on Artdroids, ummed and ahhd about getting it and wondered who'd bought it and here it is...
I thought about buying that cover for ages! Well you snooze you lose. A wonderful cover, by a sadly missed great of cartooning.
Love it! Big and bold, smacks you in the face, pure Dredd!
That's superb! Gary Martin's recreations are just flawless, beautiful inking.
Fantastic early Gibson Dredd page! Cassic Walter and Dwedd interaction, remember that story well.
Superb! It's that image of JC in the top right that gets me.
A great early page from a memorable story, and all with all of the gang - perfect!
That is superb! Having the good fortune to own a couple of these Carlos DPS, I know how wonderful they are. With that massive ship in the foreground it's a great example.
Loved this one, grear story and art. That Slime really had it comin'. Nice nod to the Warriors too.
From Comic Showcase in Covent Garden? Many a missed opportunity there in the 80s. V for Vendetta pages sold for similar prices..
Absolutely superb! These classic 2000ad DPS are just wonderful.
For modern(ish) Bisley that is beautiful. A superb Constantine page to own. Glad to see a small restrained signature in the bottom corner from the Biz, his signatures can be quite wild.
Thanks Dan, it's at the framers as we speak! You've been getting some very nice pages recently too (congrats on the Simpson pages)
It's all beautifully done, poor Larter, but that bottom panel is perfection.
And another one! Have you invented a time machine, or do you have some kompromat on Will Simpson...
Great page! Don't see many of these around.
What a beautiful cover. Accompanied by such terrible news. I didn't know until I just read it here. A terrible loss, I think we were all secretly hoping for some more from him at some point.
