Description

From the third season Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Fred Wolf Films) episode "Invasion of the Turtle Snatchers," here's a great cel of two robotic Foot Soldiers getting bowled over. I expect it's just conincidence, but that big metal ball reminds me of the yellow spiked ball accessory that was included with the original Playmates Toys Sewer Lair Playset!

This is a painted acetate cel layered over a printed background. Unlike the cels sold under the "Animation Art" label, this is an instance of a TMNT cel in a more "raw" state. I took the opportunity to scan it from the reverse side too.

Also attached is a screencap from the digital VUDU copy, showing the cels in their approximate final form at around the 17 minute, 44 second mark of the VUDU digital copy.

The cannon fodder of the series, these Foot soldiers saw a lot of turtle feet in their faces! Very cool comedic relief poses making them less threatening than the actual named bad guys.
