DescriptionWhat? A DC page from 1978? Say it ain’t so, Jeff. You bet it is. If I wasn’t absorbed in a Star Wars comic or toy adventure I was probably watching a whole host of cartoons including the Super Friends!In this issue, four transformed villains, embodying ancient Greek elements, are captured by the Super Friends but ultimately choose redemption on this page featuring Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. This page was penciled by Ramona Fradon, a lifelong force in the comics scene. After her passing I realized I wanted a published panel page example of her work with those characters from my youth. I already had an example of her strip art in my galleries in the form of a Brenda Starr piece. When this page turned up at Heritage, I knew it was just the right fit. Today Ramona would have been 98, born October 2, 1926, in Chicago, IL. Happy birthday, Ramona. We all wish you were here. Social/Sharing |

A beautiful, non-Star Wars addition to your collection.
I attended Ramona's memorial panel last month in Baltimore. As sad as it was to say goodbye, it truly was a celebration of someone whose art just made people feel happy.
May we all be so lucky as to stay creative, relavant, and appreciated so late in life.
