DescriptionI saw Mark Texeira at New York Comic Con this year (2024). He wasn't advertised as a guest. He was sitting next to Alex Rivera. Alex is an inker who seemed very nice. I actually took Alexs card because I get things inked all the time. Anyway, from my conversation with Tex, he dropped in to the con. He was in the area for other business (I won't disclose any of the specifics since just because he told me I don't feel it's right to broadcast it). Anyway, Saturday was my last day and Mark really hasn't started much of the piece. After I finished seeing everyone Mark was like I'll do it here. Don't go should take under an hour. Since I really didn't have anything else to do, I just chilled with him and watched him work and BS'd. Man Mark gets distracted easily. But he is a funny guy. It was about 3 hours. Again I was there on a limited budget and everything else I set out to do I got done. But I got to see how he draws and renders a piece. I grew up loving his art so yeah it was a long time but I really enjoyed it. Mark also since he just dropped in there that he really didn't have many supplies. He draws normally with a board. He doesn't like drawing flat on a table. For the first 2 hours thats all he had. A mechanical pencil and the writing surface. The last hour he got a flat box that art ships in which works as a board and finished the piece. ***Now for the record this was a piece I arranged via his Patreon a couple years ago and he lost track of the job. Tex was overwhelmed with it. So that is why he wanted to do it then and there. He apologized and really wanted to make sure it got done. So if you were at NYCC and wonder why I got a piece done it's because it was an owed piece.*** Social/Sharing |
