DescriptionAfter I acquired my first piece of Jester art, I continued to follow his offerings in subsequent auctions. Again, what initially attracted me to his work is that element of playful sexiness he’s able to imbue in his characters. It would be easy enough to simply label him a Good Girl artist, but it’s the more cartoony nature of his work that I really enjoy. Sure they tend to be overly endowed and scantily clad. But again, for me, that’s secondary to the “fun” factor.
About the art. In terms of work, I think he probably put more into this one than most of the others I’ve seen. There’s a full background that most of his other pieces lack. And I love the color and detail on both characters. Also, I don’t know about you guys, but I get kind of a J Scott Campbell vibe from the Black Cat figure. I love her face here. And the color variations in her hair are amazing. Again, I just don’t think I’ve ever seen him put this much work into a piece before (or since). So I probably paid a bit more than I should, but I’d like to think I got one of his better examples. Well worth it in my most humble opinion. Anyway, my thanks to Tony for another quick, easy, and pleasant transaction. If you want a Jester piece of your own, you can find him on eBay. His seller ID is “moshpot”. My thanks to all of you who dropped by to check this out. See you next week. Social/Sharing |

So much fun! You can't go wrong with Spider-Ham. And what a sexy Black Cat! I need to get me one of these. Thanks for sharing!

I agree with everything you said here. His work is rad. I felt fortunate to grab one early on and since then have been amazed at how cool each one is! Great acquisition.

I agree with your sexiness comment. That is one fine cut of pork butt.
1 cup ketchup 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 tablespoon worchestershire sauce 1 tablespoon rub 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke 1 teaspoon mustard 1/2 teaspoon chipotle pepper sauce.
Mmmmm...

Totally love it - Ham and Cat definitely have something going on here and they had an encounter before - check out my CAF if you wonder about that.

I know, I know. This should be in your gallery Andy. But I had to have at least ONE Spider-Ham piece. And not to worry. I don't plan on starting a Spider-Ham collection anytime soon. I can't compete with yours anyway. Thanks for the comment!

So much more bright and colorful than other animation styled Jester pieces! Black Cat is Jessica Rabbit to Spider-Ham's Roger Rabbit.

As a kid I picked up Peter Porker the....
And enjoyed the silliness. This is a great mix of sexy silly fun and since it does have a JSC vibe and the characters are in JSC wheelhouse this works on so many levels!

Thanks Pal. Yeah, I fell in love with this one the second I saw it. Even if he had not included the Spider-Ham figure, I still would have bought it. Her entire head steals the show for me. As you said, love the work on the hair. From its natural looking flow to all those wonderful highlights. And those beautiful blue eyes behind the mask. They just kill me. Yes, there's still some inconsistency from piece to piece. But I really thought this was a highwater mark for him. Thanks again for the comment. Hope to see you soon.

Ha! And I still have to get in on your Jack Gray action. Let's see who ends up getting theirs first. May the best man win.

Thank you my friend. As in my reply to Artless Artmore's comment, I agree with both of you. When you look at this piece as a whole, yes, it's really fun and really well done. But when you enlarge it and see that beautiful face up close, with those amazing eyes, she truly is (as you said) magnetic and cativating.

When you mentioned you got another Jester piece, this was not the one I expected, but this is a pretty great one. It has a cute/fun vibe that Jester does well, and the technical elements are spot on, from her suit reflections to her hair shading. Congrats!

Always fun and interesting when other people try to read my tastes. Now I'm wondering which one you think I got? We can talk about it when I see you. Thanks for the comment buddy.
