DescriptionThis same old story: I purchased 2 commissions directly from Larry Stroman back in 2016. Never received them. 8 years of lies and false promises. No refund. No art.Last year Larry got a new art rep who once again got Larry to promise to deliver. Fast forward to early January of 2024… Larry finally completed this commission and I was promised it would be shipped out with tracking within a couple days. It’s been another 10 months of lies and deceit since then. Still no art and still no refund. Larry even posted this piece to his FB on 1/9/24 as a completed commission (see additional pic). *note* although I purchased 2 commissions, this is the only piece Larry said he was willing to send me. I guess that’s a moot point though. For some reason Larry simply refuses to mail out anything whether it’s completed or not. I’ve been giving Larry chances to make this right for the past 8 years and even two sets of reps during that time couldn’t help. Social/Sharing |

Sorry man...I remember getting a weird vibe from Stroman while I was discussing a possible commission year's ago. So much so that I passed on it. A definite Deadbeat In Comission (aka...DIC!).

thats really a shame. i saw your post and thought "what a cool piece!" and then read your post. i was lucky enough to get a Hulk by stroman on ebay and didnt have to deal with him directly. i know that expierences like that always cause me to like the artist a lot less. good luck on future commissions

That sucks! If it ever does show up, do you think you'll be able to love it or will you have to just sell it?

That's a great question. When Larry finally completed this commission request I was hopeful that I could just silently post the art and put this chapter of bad experiences behind me. I had no intent to share my story. However, Larry refuses to just put this completed piece in the mail. If it ever does show up (not holding my breath) I'll probably just keep it. I guess it would be a small victory to receive even one piece out of the two I purchased all those years ago.

That's why I stopped doing commissions from deadbeat artists. I can't enjoy the piece because it reminds me of all the pain I had to go through to get it. Battling an artist to get him to send me what I paid for ruins a piece for me.

It might come down to going to a convention, take two pieces right off his table, and telling him it's for the two pieces owed.

Ha! I've actually had a few people offer to do that in the past. I've personally never met Larry and I also hope to never do so.

Wow, what a horrible situation. Been there myself. It's terrible being ripped off. I have been ripped off by an artist and a big time dealer. There are some right pieces of work out there.
