Description

Fantastic Mickey Mouse & Goofy cover by one of the all-time greatest Disney-artists, Paul Murry. This is for the re-issue of his 1957 classic “The Sunken City” in Mickey Mouse #159 (1975).

Unfortunately most of Paul Murry’s artwork has been destroyed (only about 350-400 of his original comic book pages have survived, 99% of these from the 1970’s/80’s) and only less than 20 of his covers are thought to have survived, most of which are simple “gag covers”, with no connection to his long adventure stories, for which he is rightfully most famous.

Many thanks goes to Monty Bali for giving me the chance to be the next caretaker of this beautiful cover.

Great cover! Exploring the depths for treasure is not just a Scrooge McDuck thing to do. This Goofy and Mickey pairing is like classic cop comedy.
